Burrin Rangers too strong!

Carlow U-14 Hurling Championship

Burrin Rangers - 5-13; Setanta 1-2

Burrin Rangers showed their power and finishing ability in their home pitch of the Fighting Cocks last Wednesday evening over Setanta in the under 14 hurling championship with a comprehensive win. Playing with the advantage of a cool breeze Rangers registered 3 points before Setanta got stuck into the match. Conor Duffy with 0-5 and John Buckley with 3-2  were the Rangers stars but Lorcan Doyle with 2-0 and Jake Somers with 0-3 also added substantially to their score. Anthony Keating powered a free over the bar midway through the half for Setanta to open their account and the same player shot to the net from a close in free to give some hope to Setanta. With Padraig Thompson, Jake Oman and Ethan Kavanagh gradually getting into the match another Anthony Keating point resulted. Good performances from Conall Hickson ,Mark Behan  and Stephen Lacey stemmed the Burrin Rangers effort but Rangers powered to a convincing and deserving victory where Dylan Townsend with 0-1 and Conor Bolger with 0-2 ended the scoring.
